The song on the CD and DVD entitled “Indigenisation: Chimurenga Chekupedzisira/Umvukela Woku-gcina” by Diana Samkange is an initiative of Zimbabwean youths and chro-nicles the road Zimbabwe has travelled to get to the “Last Chimurenga”.
Zanu PF Secretary for Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Cde Saviour Kasukuwere, said the song was a musical masterpiece that was certain to capture the hearts and minds of the nation “especially the ‘maninja folks out there’, to be proud of the natural resources that God has given to our nation to benefit all of its indigenous people regardless of their political affiliation”.
“It is very heartwarming to see a young and talented person like Diana and her counterparts who have performed this inspiring song and video in their usual exemplary way which matches the best international standards.

“It shows that the indigenisation message is resonating everywhere in our minds, hearts and rhythms. Our indigenisation policy and law and this song are communicating one and the same thing and that is that Zimbabwe’s natural wealth should be in the hands of none other than the indigenous people of this great country,” Cde Kasukuwere said.

He said Zimbabweans were Chi-murenga people.
“Our ancestors resisted colonialism in the First Chimurenga from 1890 and our national liberation heroes defeated colonialism in the Second Chimurenga, leading to our independence in 1980 and we used our independence to reclaim our land and empower our peasants and new commercial farmers in the Third Chimurenga,” he said.
The launch will be held at the Zanu-PF Headquarters at 11am.
