President man of the people: Chimedza

Speaking at Maungwa business centre last week during an agricultural produce exhibition competition, Zimpapers board chairperson Dr Paul Chimedza said President Mugabe had created opportunities for the people.

He said through his people-oriented policies that range from education to economic empowerment and the land reform, President Mugabe had opened up previously uncharted economic avenues for the ordinary people.

“We are all blessed as Zimbabweans to have an inspirational leader like President Mugabe, who deeply loves his people and has been consistent in pushing for the total emancipation of Zimbabweans,” said Dr Chimedza.

Small holder farmers and youths drawn from across Gutu South party districts participated in the show. He said there were many Zimbabweans who had become successful farmers and entrepreneurs because of the President’s thrust for black people to be masters of their own destiny.

“We have some Zimbabweans who have excelled in many fields like agriculture because President Mugabe gave them the opportunity to prove their mettle. Whatever economic strides that have been made by ordinary Zimbabweans in this country it is because of his visionary leadership,” he said.

He said President Mugabe has over the past few years been assisting rural farmers with inputs under the Presidential Farming Inputs scheme and most of those who exhibited their produce were beneficiaries of the scheme.

The Zimpapers chairman handed over prizes to villagers who exhibited their agricultural produce and animals.

He also handed over soccer and netball kits to the teams that participated in a sports tournament that ran concurrently with the agricultural exhibition.
