President Mnangagwa today addressed the final Cabinet meeting of the year, commending Zimbabweans for their hard work and unity, which he said contributed to the resounding success across all sectors of the economy.

He noted that the various reforms introduced by the Second Republic had created an environment conducive to the modernisation and industrialisation of the economy.

“Despite the global shocks experienced during the period of NDS-1, the reforms carried out since the Second Republic have been a resounding success,” President Mnangagwa stated.

“Through the unity and hard work of all our people, we have ushered our nation into a new era of hope, development, modernisation, industrialisation, and improved service delivery. The economy has demonstrated remarkable resilience, bolstered by strong policy coordination and fiscal prudence.

“It is indeed pleasing that during the year 2025, we continued to witness the strengthening of the macro-economic environment. Our National Gross Domestic Product has firmed, along with the stabilisation of the ZiG currency, among other key economic indicators.”

Vice-President General (retired) Constantino Chiwenga

President Mnangagwa also commended Cabinet Ministers for their commitment to attending Cabinet meetings and implementing resolutions throughout the year, noting that this dedication had contributed to “invaluable progress” for the benefit of ordinary citizens.

He acknowledged the Ministers’ participation but stated there was room for improvement, emphasising that Cabinet meetings should take precedence over all other government proceedings.

He challenged Ministers to reflect on the targets they had set at the commencement of the year and to continually analyse all memoranda generated from their respective Ministries before submission for consideration by Cabinet.

President Mnangagwa concluded by stating that continued collective efforts by Cabinet Ministers will result in sustained progress and remarkable success across all sectors of the economy.
