President Mnangagwa has arrived in Moscow to attend the 80th Victory Day celebrations that commemorate Russia’s triumph over Nazi Germany in World War II.

The President landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport at about 12:30 hrs Russian time (11:30 Zim time).

He was accompanied by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Professor Amon Murwira; Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube, and other senior Government officials.

Russia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for Africa and the Middle East, Mikhail Bogdanov, and Zimbabwe’s chief diplomat to Russia, Ambassador Mark Grey Marongwe, received President Mnangagwa.

During his visit, President Mnangagwa will join several other Heads of State at the May 9 Victory Day celebrations, with the Kremlin saying 29 world leaders are expected for the monumental event.

Zimbabwe and Russia enjoy cordial relations on the political and economic fronts.
