THIS afternoon, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, also the First Secretary of the ruling ZANU-PF, will preside over the Ordinary Session of the Politburo meeting at the party headquarters in Harare.

This significant gathering marks the commencement of the 21st Annual National People’s Conference, a key event in the party’s calendar that is being hosted in Bulawayo.

The Politburo meeting serves as a platform for party leaders to discuss critical issues affecting Zimbabwe and strategies for the upcoming conference. This year, the Annual National People’s Conference is themed “Industrialise and Modernise towards the Attainment of Vision 2030,” reflecting the Government’s commitment to economic development and modernisation in line with its long-term vision.

As ZANU-PF prepares to engage in discussions on industrialisation and modernisation, the conference aims to outline strategies to bolster economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the overall welfare of Zimbabweans. The theme underscores the party’s focus on leveraging innovation and technology to achieve its developmental goals.

The conference is expected to attract party members, government officials, and stakeholders, fostering dialogue on pressing national issues and the party’s roadmap for the future.

As the event unfolds, the outcomes of the Politburo meeting and subsequent sessions will likely shape Zimbabwe’s political and economic landscape in the coming years.
