President Mnangagwa will today convene the 38th and final Cabinet meeting of 2025 at State House in Harare.
This Cabinet meeting comes at a crucial time as the country transitions from the National Development Strategy (NDS) 1 to NDS 2.
The year 2025 recorded several significant achievements aimed at improving the lives of Zimbabweans.
These include accomplishments under the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and the broader Vision 2030, particularly in infrastructure development, economic stability, and social services.
During 2025, the economy is projected to grow by 6.6 percent.

The Government also maintained a tight monetary policy, which contributed to sustained price and exchange rate stability for the new currency, the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG).
The landmark Trabablas Traffic Interchange (formerly Mbudzi Roundabout) in Harare was officially commissioned in May 2025, significantly easing congestion and improving road safety.
Substantial progress was also made on the rehabilitation of major trade corridors such as the Harare-Chirundu and Bulawayo-Victoria Falls roads.
In 2025, the expansion of Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport was completed, increasing its annual passenger handling capacity.
Additionally, in a significant legal reform, the government abolished the death penalty in December 2024, aligning Zimbabwe with global human rights norms.
Zimbabwe achieved a record-breaking wheat harvest for the 2025 winter season of 640,195 metric tonnes, which is the highest-ever yield in the country’s history.
This latest harvest marks the third consecutive year of wheat self-sufficiency.
