President Mnangagwa engages Zimbabwean Diaspora in Baku

Baku, Azerbaijan — President Emmerson Mnangagwa met members of the Zimbabwean diaspora at a hotel in Baku this morning, seeking to strengthen ties with citizens living abroad.
The meeting comes as Zimbabwe faces significant economic challenges mainly caused by illegal Sanctions imposed by the West.

During the gathering, President Mnangagwa emphasised the importance of the diaspora’s role in national development and urged participants to contribute to investment initiatives back home.
He highlighted recent Government efforts aimed at improving the economic climate, including reforms to attract foreign investment.

The president’s visit to Azerbaijan coincides with a broader diplomatic mission aimed at fostering international relations and securing support for Zimbabwe’s economic recovery. Community members expressed concerns over the situation in Zimbabwe but also discussed potential opportunities for collaboration and investment.

This meeting underscores the ongoing relationship between the Zimbabwean Government and its diaspora, particularly in times of economic difficulty.
