HARARE, Zimbabwe – His Excellency, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and First Secretary of the ruling Zanu-PF party, today chaired a pivotal Central Committee meeting today at the party headquarters in Harare.
The session marks the second day of the 21st Annual National People’s Conference, a critical event designed to shape the party’s future policies and strategies.
The 124th Ordinary Session of the Central Committee comes at a crucial juncture as ZANU-PF prepares for upcoming elections.
Key discussions are anticipated to revolve around economic recovery plans, enhancing party unity, and addressing rising public discontent over pressing issues such as inflation and unemployment.

During the conference, President Mnangagwa welcomed attendees to the 379th session of the Politburo where a moment of silence was observed in honour of the late National Hero, Cde Tshinga Judge Dube.
He commended the efforts of the coordinating committee, party staff, and Bulawayo Province for their preparatory work leading up to the conference.
Emphasising the party’s commitment to land reform, President Mnangagwa reiterated that the programme is “irreversible and protected,” announcing the implementation of a land tenure policy aimed at making agricultural land bankable, registrable, and transferable among Indigenous Zimbabweans.
Meanwhile, optimistic reports of another record-breaking winter wheat bumper harvest signal a potentially positive development for the agriculture sector.
