THE Gwanda Municipality today commenced their 2025 budget consultative meetings.
Gwanda Town mayor, Alderman Thulani Moyo said the consultative process has started with an engagement with the disabled community today.
The consultative meetings will be held up to October 30.
Other stakeholders that will be consulted include residents from all 10 wards, youth, women and the business community.
He said through the budget consultation process the municipality hopes to get valuable input from stakeholders that will be crucial in improving service delivery.
“We have rolled out consultative meetings which will be conducted in all our 10 wards in the town. The meetings will also cover certain groups in the community which include people with disability, women, youth, and business community residents. During the meetings we will be capturing major issues under service delivery which communities which to see being budgeted for and prioritised.
“This is a crucial exercise because as a council our core mandate is service delivery and this process is informed by what our stakeholders need. Our focus is development of the town and we need the input of stakeholders. We don’t want to follow a top-to-bottom approach but we want stakeholders at grassroots level to highlight the issues they need to be addressed under service delivery,” he said.
Alderman Moyo urged various stakeholders to take part in this crucial process.
