President Mnangagwa is today officially opening the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) in Zimbabwe Church’s Vineyard Assembly in Knowe, Norton.
Delegates, including congregants, church leaders, and government officials, have already begun arriving for the event, ahead of the official ceremony.
The opening of the new church assembly marks a significant milestone for the AFM in Zimbabwe, as the church continues to expand its infrastructure to accommodate its growing membership.
President Mnangagwa’s attendance underscores the importance of the occasion, which is set to celebrate the completion of the facility and its contribution to spiritual growth and community development.

President Mnangagwa has arrived at AFM Vineyard Assembly.
On arrival, the President briefly went into a briefing before unveiling the plaque of the new Church building and several vehicles.
The President has now entered the venue, marking the beginning of the official programme.

Government, Church relationship growing stronger: Chombo
Minister of State for Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Marian Chombo says the relationship between the Government and the Church continues to grow stronger, describing the partnership as important for the country’s development.
Speaking at the official opening of the AFM Vineyard Assembly in Knowe, Norton, Cde Chombo said cooperation between the two institutions was benefiting national and provincial development.
She also commended the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) for constructing the new church building.
“We thank the AFM for inviting us here, and we congratulate you for this beautiful building,” she said.
“The relationship between the Church and Government continues to grow stronger every day, and this is good for the development of the country.
“The church as a whole is also contributing to the development of the Province.”
Bishop Madawo thanks President for donations to AFM Vineyard Assembly
Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM) president Bishop Amos Madawo has expressed gratitude to President Mnangagwa for his donations towards the completion of the AFM Vineyard Assembly in Knowe, Norton, describing the support as transformative for the church.
Speaking during the official opening of the church, Bishop Madawo said the President had donated cash, a 30-seater bus, an SUV and double-cab vehicles.
“Your Excellency, your coming here today is a testament to your love for God’s work, and your commitment and spiritual development of our nation; we are deeply grateful,” he said.
“We are also grateful for these donations, for they have gone a long way in making sure God’s work moves smoothly.”
Bishop Madawo said the congregation had embarked on constructing the church with faith and determination despite limited finances.
Also speaking at the event, Reverend Constantine Murefu highlighted the importance of cooperation between the Church and the State.
“The Church is not excluded from the affairs of the State, neither is the State isolated from the affairs or activities of the Church,” he said.
President urges churches to promote peace, unity and compassion
Addressing congregants, church leaders and guests, President Mnangagwa said the gathering reflected the spirit of unity that continues to strengthen the nation and its people.
“Today’s gathering underscores the unity of the Church in our beloved motherland, Zimbabwe, and reaffirms our collective commitment to achieving even greater progress for the benefit of our people,” he said.
“As the Scriptures remind us, ‘How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity’ (Psalm 133:1). May this spirit of unity and peace continue to guide our nation and its people.”
President Mnangagwa commended the AFM leadership for steering the church through different phases of growth while contributing to Zimbabwe’s development.
“I commend the leadership of the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) in Zimbabwe for its steadfast guidance of the Church through seasons of growth, transformation, and spiritual renewal.
“Your dedication has strengthened the Church’s role in nurturing faith, fostering social cohesion, and contributing to national development.”
The President challenged Christians to use their God-given gifts to positively impact society through service and righteous living.
“We were all created for a purpose, and collectively we have a duty to use our God-given gifts in ways that please Almighty God. As followers of Christ, we must continue to be the salt of the earth, positively influencing our communities through our words, actions, and service,” he said.
“I urge the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM), together with all other churches, to remain steadfast in upholding the values and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Let us continue to do good, serve others with compassion, promote peace and unity, and inspire hope as we work together for the betterment of our nation.”
President Mnangagwa also encouraged Zimbabweans to place God first and uphold values that build a peaceful and prosperous society.
“I urge my fellow countrymen and women to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that all other things shall be added unto us. Let us remain steadfast in our faith and be guided by the enduring values of righteousness, compassion, and integrity,” he said.
“The message of hope and a brighter future must continue to be proclaimed across our nation. I encourage every member of the Church to remain an ambassador of peace, promoting unity, reconciliation, and love within our communities as we work together to build a prosperous Zimbabwe.”
