FAMONA, Bulawayo zimbabwe — President Emmerson Mnangagwa has officially planted an umphaca tree today, naming it “Muvengo” as part of the ongoing national tree planting initiative aimed at combating deforestation and promoting environmental sustainability.
The ceremony, attended by Government officials and local community members, underscores the Government’s commitment to restoring Zimbabwe’s natural landscape and mitigating the effects of climate change.
This symbolic act highlights the importance of indigenous trees in local ecosystems and the role they play in the country’s cultural heritage. The name “Muvengo,” which reflects the tree’s significance, is expected to resonate with Zimbabweans and inspire further participation in environmental conservation efforts.
