President Mnangagwa has proclaimed December 9 as the date for by-elections for the nine vacancies created in the National Assembly following the recall of 15 Citizens Coalition for Change legislators two weeks ago.

The Nomination Court will sit on November 7.

The vacancies were created by the recall of the legislators by the party’s interim secretary-general Mr Sengezo Tshabangu.

The dates are contained in a proclamation contained in Statutory Instrument 188 of 2023.

The by-elections will be held in nine constituencies with six of the 15 MPs recalled having been elected through proportional representation
