President Mnangagwa today officially opened the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) in Zimbabwe Vineyard Assembly in Norton, calling on churches to continue promoting unity, peace and national development.
Addressing congregants, church leaders and guests, the President said the gathering reflected the spirit of unity that continues to strengthen the nation and its people.
“Today’s gathering underscores the unity of the Church in our beloved motherland, Zimbabwe, and reaffirms our collective commitment to achieving even greater progress for the benefit of our people,” he said.
“As the Scriptures remind us, ‘How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity’ (Psalm 133:1). May this spirit of unity and peace continue to guide our nation and its people.”
President Mnangagwa commended the AFM leadership for steering the church through different phases of growth while contributing to Zimbabwe’s development.
“I commend the leadership of the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) in Zimbabwe for its steadfast guidance of the Church through seasons of growth, transformation, and spiritual renewal.
“Your dedication has strengthened the Church’s role in nurturing faith, fostering social cohesion, and contributing to national development.”
The President challenged Christians to use their God-given gifts to positively impact society through service and righteous living.
“We were all created for a purpose, and collectively we have a duty to use our God-given gifts in ways that please Almighty God. As followers of Christ, we must continue to be the salt of the earth, positively influencing our communities through our words, actions, and service,” he said.
“I urge the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM), together with all other churches, to remain steadfast in upholding the values and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Let us continue to do good, serve others with compassion, promote peace and unity, and inspire hope as we work together for the betterment of our nation.”
President Mnangagwa also encouraged Zimbabweans to place God first and uphold values that build a peaceful and prosperous society.
“I urge my fellow countrymen and women to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that all other things shall be added unto us. Let us remain steadfast in our faith and be guided by the enduring values of righteousness, compassion, and integrity,” he said.
“The message of hope and a brighter future must continue to be proclaimed across our nation. I encourage every member of the Church to remain an ambassador of peace, promoting unity, reconciliation, and love within our communities as we work together to build a prosperous Zimbabwe.”
