President returns from Mozambique

SADC chairperson President Mnangagwa returned home this evening after attending Mozambique’s 50th Independence Day commemorations in the afternoon.

The Golden Jubilee celebrations were held under the theme “50 Years of Independence Consolidating national unity, peace and sustainable development.”

Zimbabwe and Mozambique enjoy cordial bilateral relations which date back to the days of the liberation struggle.

Several veterans of the liberation struggle fought side-by-side with their Frelimo counterparts until Zimbabwe became free from Ian Smith’s colonial regime

President Mnangagwa was welcomed by Vice President Kembo Mohadi, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere, State Security Minister Lovemore Matuke, senior Government officials and service chiefs.
