Presidential Affairs and Devolution Permanent Secretary, Muguti, tours Carousel factory in Bulawayo

CAROUSEL Manufacturing, a Bulawayo manufacturing division of clothing firm, Edgars Stores Limited is enjoying a new lease of life sparked by investments in equipment worth more than US$1 million.


The firm is experiencing increased production and more job opportunities.
Part of the new machinery has already been delivered and installed at the factory to ramp up garment production.
The retooling of Carousel is expected to increase production volumes from our highest of 45 000 per month to 100 000 per month.
Presidential Affairs and Devolution Permanent Secretary, Engineer Tafadzwa Muguti, visited the factory on Thursday to learn about these developments during his tour of Matabeleland projects.


The firm is already designing for 2025 summer.
Edgars, which migrated its listing from the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) to the VFEX effective 5 April 2024, indicated that the company has ambitious plans.
To cater to the needs of the low-income segment of the market, The Victoria Falls Stock Exchange-listed firm has introduced three Express Stores, which operate on a cash-only basis.
These stores are designed to provide affordable shopping options and convenient access for customers who may have limited access to credit facilities.
