Staff Officer of Civil-Military Relations Major Nyikadzino Mugadza on Monday said despite 28 years of existence, this was the first time the Presidential Guard was celebrating its anniversary.
“We are going to launch the anniversary for the first time since the Presidential Guard was formed 28 years ago, we are honoured to have the anniversary celebrations for the first time in the history of Zimbabwe and this chapter shall continue,” he said.
Presidential Guard Commander Colonel Nhamo Sanyatwe said this was a landmark development in the history of the Presidential Guard.
“I am very much pleased to mention that the Presidential Guard has maintained loyalty and is still well disciplined,” he said.
Army Commander Lieutenant General Valerio Sibanda is expected to preside over the event.
