President’s address @ MPs luncheon: No room for that naked corruption

President Robert MugabeThis is the second and final part of President Mugabe’s address at the luncheon hosted by the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing after the official opening of the First Session of the Eighth Parliament on Tuesday. IDZI hama dzedu idzi dzakungobondera, boycotting, they should think better. We thought our working together over a period of five years had also contributed to their learning something but vanenge vasina kudzidza.

Dai vakauya vega, vachiti “zvino toita sei? Okay taruza, tobva tangoenda musango here?”
Tingabva tashayawo mabasa atinga vape here? Hataishaya, so we could work and ensure there is some working together in some other areas.

But vakabva vati “aiwa hatidi, hatidi, hatidi,” Tikati eh garai zvenyu makadaro veduwe. Nhamo ndedzenyu.
Anyway, let’s not be too arrogant, let’s keep our peace, be non-violent.

Less personal, be outgoing.
Yes, we won’t discriminate when it comes to things that we give to the public, chibage chatinopa kumhuri, hatisarudzi kuti uri kuparty ipi uri kupi, vese, mhuri yese ndeyedu we feed all.

Education, let’s keep this up, its education for all.
Vanababa tochenjera.  Vanababa, we are going to make it very, very tough for you.

Vaye movayambira madzishe, yambirai vanhu venyu vanobata twana tudiki.
Kana zvichinzi ndozvinopedza urwere kana zvichinzi zvinopa mhanza here kana hupfumi, movaudza vazvikande pasi.

No molestation of youngsters. No molestation of women.
We are going to increase maSentences.

Vamwe vaimboti in the past there was death for rape, zvino vemahuman rights vanoramba hanzi death haa no it dehumanises iri kunzi inhuman, it dehumanises a person.

Iye ari munhu waitoita dehumanise vamwe kana wauraya munhu zvonzi ah no punishment of that nature it humanises munhu akauraya mumwe?

Ah ndipo pandinorambawo ipapo.
Kungoti chete if it comes in another way yokuti uyu akaparadza ropa toparadza rimwe here futi, so you have two people dying?
An eye for an eye! Not in that way, ini ndaingoda kumarapists chete ndokwandingade kuti tisevenzese  bhadhizo but the person remains alive, that which makes him rape must go.

Asi kune varume vari kuramba ipapo.
Aiwa tiri tose let’s remain united.

There are definitely  skills in the private sector, lots of skills, but zvibatisirei panyaya imwe chete.
If we are going to succeed in our indigenisation we must be willing to establish companies, viable companies, tumacompanies twemuserufu, vaMugabe naMai Mugabe vaine kadairy kavo apa, that’s not enough.

Let’s also have partnerships zvaiita vanababa vaitambudzika zve.
Vaita kabutchery apo  kunotengeswa mombe yourayiwa kana muri  marural areas inourayiwa imwe chete kwotsvaga imwe dzimwe nguva masvondo maviri anopfuura pasina yaurayiwa, aizve asi tumari ndoendesa vana kuchikoro tumabhodhoro kwecoca-cola  netusipo nezvimwe, tushuga ndo on the shelf, but lets put our resources together tive tinonzwanana.

In the areas where skills are required, where real experience is required, we have had some experience of running various entities: mining companies ndisu, migodhi tisu, maengineers edu, mametallurgists edu, mageologists edu, put ourselves together.

Don’t mind about the fact of technology, mishini, mishini inogona kuitwa hayo isu tomirira kuHurumende to give you the capacity now  the financial capacity to enable you to acquire these, that necessary technology.

Ndozvatinoda, but no. You prefer, still prefer kuti kuuye macompanies from outside that immediately means resources are going to go out because we are going to be paying these companies.

Ini  I would want to see a situation now where we are on our own, our own companies, majority of them and in some areas yes we can have a company here from China, Brazil or so on, yah but the majority of them being our own companies, 100 percent  yainzi iye pure pure proper, so that it our indigenisation.

We also must be true. Corruption must be go, It must be go! It must go. It must be go.
I was discussing last week. One of the mining companies yanga isati  yaita mining kuno.

We gave it, takabvumiraina navaMpofu; no let’s try vakomana vekuGhana vane bank ravo kuGhana ikoko, vane resource.
But if you know, get to know, how they were treated. Hunzai mari US$6 million first youya through the normal way. Imwe iyi vakanzi chiunzai kwete through transfers dzemabank  but mouya iri cash makaibata.

Nevanhu vedu managing our own bank, our own mining sector.
Yakazoenda kupi? Vozonzi vadaro, in the meantime tanga tati ZMDC, we have mining companies as 50 percent tikati imwe percentage is to help  vekumapurisa hongu 20 tikati ivo veGhana vaiva ne30 percent zvino apa apa nerweseri vakanzi bisai imwe 6 percent  from your 30 percent we form another  small company kwakaenda yakanga isingazivikwane  even by the Minister even by anybody else  and this being done.

Zvino vochizozonzi  vaforma kacompany ikako on the Ghana share side, equity side, vakuti vochiuya ne equipment zvikanzi mukauya munosungwa.

So that they can now remain outside in this whole company ine 30 percent is taken here and its done by  own people in the management saka aiwa, that cannot go unpunished!

Vaakutya kuuya kudzoka kuenda kuti tibatisirei kunana Thabo  Mbeki, tibatsirei kuReserve Bank yavo.
Even when given the assurance by the Commissioner-General of Police, of course, kuti huyai vakati no hatikwanise kuuya tichisungwa?
Tine bank kuno kuGhana, ndikangosungwa chete there will be a run on my banking.

Ah, woenda wanzwa kuti minister waenda kuWashington minister.
He flew to Washington to meet the minister, minister vana Tomana, Attorney-General nana Masimirembwa. Ko mhosva chii?
Minister says I don’t know about this, nhai VaMasimirembwa, a vachasungwa here?

Masimirembwa says ehe kune mhosva.
Yei? Ah tichaturaurirana.

Ah wabva watadza kuuya Minister says tichadzoka, wodzoka vobvunza kuna Commissisoner kuti are there any cases?
Commissioner says hakuna mhosva ngavauye. I gave him assurance.

He is given assurance achiri kutya kuuya ndokuzonzi chimhara kuBulawayo, we will take you from there.
Ndokumhara kuBulawayo, ndokuchitorwa Minister apa Commissioner apa vanaMasimirembembwa nechigroup chavo apa.

Vochinzi chitaurai, imi mapurisa mune docket here rekuda kusunga uyu? Mapurisa oti aiwa hatina isu?
Ko VaMasimirembwa zvamaitaura uyu ane mhosva yei?

Tonho.
Tiudzeizve?
Tonho.

Ah, come on, we can’t have that in our country!
It was to be the only group yemaAfricans coming to join us and with 30 percent and the rest was to be with us.
So kana zviri izvo zvatiri, then damn us.

Let the world damn us.
That naked corruption no!
Alright, okay well, we have been invited, I am a guest, a Guest of Honour, tapedza zuva rese this morning tiri kuParliament, we are hungry let our stomachs get fed all this we shall.

Mangwana tinenge tine Cabinet we will talk about these matters.
So its back to work as from tomorrow.

Let us rejoice, let us remember we are tasked by our people to lead them in developing the country.
To lead them so that they can become better than they have been in the past.

You can become better than you have been in the past.
We all can become better than we  have been in the past.

Let’s remain united.
Let’s remain honest.

Let’s remain focused.
Let’s remain people-oriented.

Let’s remain honest.
Pamberi neZanu-PF! Pamberi nekuda vanhu! Nekushandira vanhu!  Nekubatana! Nekubatana! Nerugare munyika! Pasi nevanoda kutitonga! Ndatenda.
