Prestigious Christmas show to light up Harare

Professionals usually have a lot on their hands and in most cases rarely have time to mingle and relax away from their daily duties because of the demands of work.

Sometimes even if they have the time, in some cases they find places of entertainment not suitable for their status, hence they resort to indoor entertainment where they mingle with the same characters all the time.

It is the end of the year, and Christmas, an exclusive musical show and dinner have been arranged at Newlands Country Club today, where top musicians from South Africa and Zimbabwe will perform.

Organisers of the show yesterday said all was set for the musical show and dinner dubbed “The Prestige Christmas Affair” where South African afro-pop band Mafikizolo, Jah Prayzah, Feli Nandi, ExQ and DJ Rimo will provide entertainment.

It is a Christmas show worth the billing, as it targets those who may want to enjoy Jah Prayzah’s live shows, In the same vein, some people may have felt excluded from Mafikizolo’s previous shows in Zimbabwe or those of Feli Nandi and Ex Q because of the venues, yet they are their favourite musicians.

This makes “The Prestige Christmas Affair” a show not to miss as it provides an innovative way to cater for live music lovers who may have been feeling “disadvantaged” throughout the year.

It is time to leave the office and wind up the year on a live musical note, with an addition of an executive dinner.

Mafikizolo posted a video on social media yesterday indicating the group will be in Harare tomorrow in time for the show and has been preparing to deliver a prestigious performance.

“Hello Zimbabwe. This is Mafikizolo and we can’t wait to celebrate Christmas with you at Newlands Country Club on the 21st of December at the Prestige Christmas Affair. Now this  goner be an elegant dinner, entertainment from South Africa as well as Zimbabwe. Get your tickets now at City Link Rainbow Towers. See you on the 21st of December,” the duo of Mafikizolo said in the post.

Jah Prayzah posted: “So guys. Mafikizolo, ExQ, Feli Nandi, DJ Rimo, neni, ndo team rangu randendinaro mangwana musi wa21, Newlands Country Club. Ehe, tichipemberera kupinda muChristmas. Ma vibes acho momaziva, ifestive guys, pindai mumood”.

Feli Nandi, who was out of the country, returned yesterday in time for The Prestige Christmas Affair and immediately started rehearsals for the event.

Show spokesperson Napoleon Nyanhi said StarFM was partnering the event and yesterday gave a lucky winner a VVIP ticket.

The winner would be chauffeur driven to the show in an executive car, courtesy of the radio station.

“Tickets are moving quite fast and today (yesterday), we were very busy,” said Nyanhi. “The venue is already set up and there are no fears of rains as the event is indoors and in addition we have a huge tent outside the venue.” The Prestige Christmas Affair is an exclusive event meant for Zimbabwe’s A-Listers to mingle and have dinner and live music in a relaxed atmosphere.

Befitting such a huge show, an individual VIP ticket goes for US$130, while a VVIP one costs US$180.

Corporate tables are available at US$1 500, for 10 guests.  The event starts at 6pm, with guests expected to be dressed in African Elegance.
