Sikhumbuzo Moyo [email protected], in Hwange
THE Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Torerayi Moyo, is tomorrow expected to visit schools in Hwange and Binga districts before engaging Matabeleland North school heads on Thursday.
Minister Moyo is expected to touch down at Victoria Falls Airport tomorrow before embarking on a road trip to Bhale Primary School and Nechilibi Secondary School in Hwange District.
After the Hwange programme, the Minister will proceed to Binga South, where he is expected to visit several selected schools as part of his tour of the province.
The school visits are expected to provide the Minister with an opportunity to assess the state of learning infrastructure and engage school authorities on challenges affecting the provision of education in the province.
Minister Moyo will wrap up his provincial tour on Thursday with an interface with school heads from Matabeleland North.
The engagement is expected to provide a platform for the Ministry to receive updates from school heads on issues affecting schools while also outlining Government’s priorities for the new term.
Schools opened for the third term today, with Government having urged schools to ensure that learning gets underway without disruptions.
The Minister’s tour comes as the education sector continues to focus on improving the learning environment, strengthening infrastructure and ensuring that learners have access to quality education.
