TWO Prime Homes Pvt Ltd directors have appeared in court on allegations of selling company property valued at US$2 million using a forged board resolution.

Gerald Shupikai Mudzonga (52) and Patricia Taonesa (48) appeared before Harare regional magistrate, Mrs Jessie Kufa, facing fraud charges.

It is alleged that sometime in April 2025, the two accused persons forged a resolution purported to have been signed by the company’s directors resolving to place Prime Homes Pvt Ltd under liquidation.

An application was made, resulting in Oliver Masomera of Obraum Trust Company Pvt Ltd being appointed as provisional Liquidator of Prime Homes Pvt Ltd.

Through his company Obraum Trust Company Pvt Ltd, Masomera engaged several real estate agents to find potential buyers of the company’s property.

This is how the other directors discovered that their company property was being sold by the accused persons, leading to a police report.

However, the property had already been sold for US$1 200 000.

A deposit of US$600 000 was made, with the US$600 000 balance to be paid after the signing of the deed of transfer and payment of capital gains tax.

Due to the accused’s actions, the complainant suffered an actual prejudice of US$2 000 000 and nothing was recovered.
