WARRIORS striker Prince Dube wants to leave Azam.

This is according to reports from Tanzania.

He wrote a letter to the club informing them of his decision to have his contract terminated.

According to Tanzanian newspaper Daily News, Azam Head of Information and Communication Thabiti Zakaria, confirmed receipt of the letter from the striker.

“Azam FC confirms receiving a contract termination letter from Dube requesting that he wants to leave the club he joined in 2020.

“He has submitted his letter to the management which has already responded.

“The contract he signed before the start of this season keeps him at the club until 2026.

“As such, until now, he has two-and-half years to parade at the club and the management has maintained that he can leave only if the terms of the contract are adhered to,” said Zakaria.

Dube joined Azam in 2020 after leaving Highlanders.

The 27-year-old quickly became a prolific goalscorer at the club.

His career has been derailed by injuries but the striker appears to be back in form.

In his first season in Tanzania, he found the back of the net 14 times and just missed out on the Golden Boot gong.

John Bocco of Simba won the accolade with 16 goals while his teammate Chris Mugalu found the target 15 times that season.

The forward made his national team debut on March 26, 2017, when Zimbabwe drew 0-0 draw against neighbours Zambia.

He has played nine matches and scored six goals.
