Prince Mafukidze back with new album

denying that Mafukidze has carved his own niche in gospel music with his distinct voice that comes clear as water and goes far like soft rumblings of a mild thunder.
Now Christened “The Real Prince Mwana Wamambo”, the diminutive Senior Pastor of the House of Praise Ministries International is proving one thing that music complements the word of God with a fine delivery of addictive melodies.

Of course, there is genuine progression from his debut – From Where I Stand” to “It’s Okay”, “Ndamirira” and now the latest seasonal album titled “It’s My Season”.
One good thing about the new album is that it gives one plenty to think about.
It could mean it is your season to harvest or a season for anyone to achieve anything that they would have wished for in life. It could also mean a season to be healed for the sick, a season to prosper for those who work hard and a season to pursue whatever dream you have in life.

But it could mean a season for you depending on who you are and what you do to God.
When you get to listen to the album there is no one track that you will skip because it reaches a crescendo right through to the end.

It gets you into the vibe with the awesome inspirational track “It’s My Season”. The song opens with vocals from the fresh voice of Masimba Hwati.
“Early in the morning I will rise up and live/it’s my season and it’s my time . . . I’ve waited too long.”

“Swedera Mudhuze” is perhaps the most groovy and bouncy track on the album. It’s a feel good type of song where you can not help but dance to the beat.
The rhumba-like beat and the sing along lyrics makes it an enjoyable track also it is done is Shona and isiNdebele just like some of his previous albums.

The song encourages to make friends with Jesus and to be joyful unto the Lord.
“Asihamba loJesu/hamba loJesu/hamba loJesu . . . mnandi jabula asihamba loJesu.”
There are a couple of plug and theme songs on this album including the third track “Wonderful” done in Shona and English. The praise and worship song says God should be thanked for he is wonderful and worthy every praise.

Up next is a song called “Everywhere I Go” featuring a variety of singers including Simbisai Chinjekure, Violet Samkange, Nigel Bwanya and Rumbi Mazaranhanga on vocals.
“Dai Matora” is a beautiful song that features the Praise Outcome and it’s an appeal to God to save probably lost souls.

“Dai matora moyo wangu/munyike muropa renyu” it is indeed a praise and worship inasmuch as it is a danceable track.
Track number six is “Spirit Move” is a happy song that glorifies the name of the Lord. Once again the listener can feel God presence in their life.

The song has that feel that is found on It’s Okay album and the choir has done wonders to add colour and vibe on this new album.
“Breeze of Heaven” reminds me of the great drummer Phil Collins especially on the track “I Wish It Could Rain”. In the same breath Mwana Wamambo sings about the blessings from heaven to rain down on him.

On “Sweet Anointing” he features the great talent of Rumbidzai Sengwayo, remember the Sengwayo family in the 1980s. Well, this track is a must listen and it is the slowest song on the album.
It is where Mwana Wamambo and Rumbi flawlessly exhibit their vocal clarity. It could have been an acapella song but here the instruments are there but it’s the voices that count.

“Alabaster Box” talks about giving yourself to God while the last track “Mama’s Song” gives thanks to all the mothers. Mwana Wamambo shares his belief about this season on the sleeve of the CD.
“The last couple of years have been a challenge for everyone globally but by the grace of God we made it and I believe we have now entered the season of ‘open doors, the season of favour’. My prayer is as you listen to this album you will allow the presence of God to usher you to the place of favour and open doors that no man can shut.”
