was a dark horse going into the round after carding a one-over-par in the first round.
But a one-under-par 70 on the second day powered him to victory.
He won US$1 360.
“I was ahead of the guys who did well in the first round and did not have any pressure as I didn’t know what was happening behind,” said Pringle.
“The competition was tough and the young guys are playing well.
“This is something I was looking forward to and I am very happy. I also want to thank the sponsors as this gives us confidence.
“The games are good for us as they keep us in form and they make us practice more.”
Pringle had to contend with Phillip Tshuma’s challenge in a play-off.
The two golfers played on the 10th and 18th holes to decide the winner.
Tshuma was beaten by a birdie after they were square again on the 10th hole.
Tshuma is now quickly establishing himself with his consistency and walked away US$ 1 020 richer.
The tournament was sponsored to the tune of US$8 500 by the Open Committee led by Celestine Gadzikwa.
Yesterday at Chapman, several sponsors committed their support to professional golf in the country.
