Government ministries, departments and agencies in Mashonaland West Province have been urged to focus on achieving tangible results rather than merely reporting statistics.
Speaking at the first-quarter provincial heads meeting, Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo said there is need for measurable outcomes that drive real change.
“Our focus must transcend the mere reporting of tasks and activities. Instead, we must prioritise tangible results and lasting impact,” said Minister Chombo.
“Achieving these results demands relentless hard work and an unyielding stance against corruption.”
She said the provincial leadership must be guided by integrity and diligence to achieve sustainable economic growth.
Minister Chombo called on officials to refine their approach by clearly defining targets, thereby enabling better tracking of progress and accountability.
She said implementation of the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) hinges on the ability of provinces and districts to deliver results.
The Minister also commended the Second Republic for dismantling the silo mentality within the Government through the whole-of-Government approach, which promotes greater coordination and efficiency across departments.
