adminthe Prison Fellowship International. The event began last Sunday and it is expected to end next Sunday. PFZ executive director Mr Peter Mandianike yesterday said the International Week of Prayer was an annual special occasion designed for all Prison Fellowship national ministries globally.
“The purpose of the event is to communicate and connect with churches, organisations/companies and community in order to focus on inmates, ex-inmates, their families, victims of crime and the community, the ministry of Justice (Zimbabwe Prison Services),” he said.
He said they were expected to visit all prisons and some of magistrates’ courts in the city conducting prayers, sharing the word of God and distributing bibles.
He said yesterday part of their team visited Harare Remand Prison where they distributed over 600 bibles. The team is today expected to visit Harare Central Prison before visiting Chikurubi on Thursday. On Friday they will visit Chikurubi Farm and the female inmates.
They were also expected to visit Zimbabwe Prison Services headquarters.
“This is an annual event and we will be focusing on forgiveness and reconciliation between the offender and the victims,” Mr Mandianike said.
