A Zimbabwe Prison Officer yesterday appeared in court for fatally hitting a one-year-old boy with his vehicle while he was playing outside his parent’s camp house yard.
Jonathan Mugomba (38) appeared before Harare magistrate, Mrs Nomsa Sabarauta, charged with murder.
He will be back in court today.
Allegations are that on December 2, 2015 at a dust road old in Chikurubi Prison Camp, Mugomba was reversing his Toyota Ipsum due south from house number 126.
The court heard that as Mugomba was reversing the car, he allegedly hit Ishmael Mandivenga who was playing outside the yard.
It is the State’s case that due to the accident Mandivenga sustained head injuries and was rushed to the camp hospital where he died on admission.
