The role of private security companies is pivotal in safeguarding communities, businesses, and critical infrastructure as peace and development are intertwined, Vice President Kembo Mohadi said.
Zimbabwe has been experiencing a major economic boom witnessed by an influx of both local and foreign investments, hence security is pivotal for the protection of the businesses.

In a speech read on his behalf by Minister of State for Harare Metropolitan Provincial Affairs and Devolution Charles Tavengwa at the Zimbabwe Security Companies Summit, VP Mohadi said the private sector’s role in guaranteeing security is crucial.

“While our statutory national law enforcement agencies focus on broader security challenges, private security companies handle specific security tasks, and I am proud to say that you are indeed handling these effectively and efficiently,” he said.

“You play a complementary role to our public security agencies and contribute significantly to national stability.

“Your presence contributes to crime prevention, risk mitigation, and emergency response efforts before other arms of public security come in.”
