Gadzikwa handed the company its certificate at a function held at a local hotel recently.
Mrs Gadzikwa commended the company for meeting ISO standards.
“Certification is not an end in itself but a means to an end. It is about providing a good experience to customers when they use high quality products and services which companies produce in a consistent manner over a period of time.
“This certification is testimony that Prochem is indeed committed to seeing a better tomorrow for Zimbabwe”, said Mrs Gadzikwa.
She said Zimbabwe was endowed with the best brains and natural resources that should benefit the country.
“We boast one of the best literacy levels but what is clearly missing is the ability to translate this into value for our own benefit. As the fastest growing continent, Africa has the potential to outperform any continent in the developed world if we take a more co-ordinated approach to our problems,” she said.
Mrs Gadzikwa also bemoaned the lack of Foreign Direct Investment in the country, poor road infrastructure and the inability to produce enough energy for industry which she said made the country uncompetitive.
“Our investment climate must be competitive.
“The truth is investors will assess the best options available before they make investment decisions.
“Investors interested in mining, manufacturing and so on think twice before coming to Zimbabwe if they sense risk,” said Mrs Gadzikwa.
She encouraged Government to work together with industry to churn out entrepreneurs instead of students who look for employment after college.
Prochem (Private) Limited is a wholly- owned Zimbabwean company which was founded in 1986 and is part of the Varichem Group.
It has transformed itself into a major supplier of consumer and personal care products, which include well-known brands like Elegance, Maxi Smooth, Seduce, among others. Prochem employs more than 140 workers.
