FINANCE, Economic Development and Investment Promotion Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube, is today set to headline the second edition of the Post-Budget Breakfast Meeting in Bulawayo, a key economic engagement expected to shape national dialogue around the 2026 National Budget.
The first edition of the platform was held in Harare last week.
Hosted by Zimpapers, the country’s largest integrated media group in partnership with the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI), the event is poised to draw influential voices from business, industry, commerce and the financial sector.
Stakeholders have started tricking in at the venue and are expected to unpack the full implications of the 2026 National Budget and interrogate how its proposals will support accelerated economic growth.
This year’s budget proposal presented by Prof Ncube a few weeks ago, is themed: “Enhancing Drivers of Economic Growth and Transformation Towards Vision 2030.”
Today’s high-level meeting is expected to offer deeper insights into the policy measures outlined in the fiscal plan, with analysts, investors and captains of industry anticipating clarity on reforms aimed at boosting private-sector participation, strengthening macro-economic stability, and positioning Zimbabwe for sustained growth.
Prof Ncube has repeatedly underscored that the 2026 Budget is firmly anchored on financing the key economic growth drivers identified under the newly launched National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2).
Running from 2026 to 2030, NDS2 is the country’s economic blueprint for the next five years and is expected to provide renewed momentum as Zimbabwe seeks to attain upper-middle-income status by 2030.
The plan builds on the milestones of NDS1, which concludes this year, and sharpens Government focus on broad-based, transformative development.
Some of the speakers lined up include United Refineries Managing director adr Busisa Moyo, Bankers Association of Zimbabwe president Dr Sibongile Moyo and Bankeasy economist and managing director Mr James Wadi among others.
