Zimbabwe-born entrepreneur Professor Clemence Jaricha, founder and chairman of CJ Global Express Group Unlimited, has hailed the Government for its decision to slash a range of fees and charges to facilitate the ease of doing business.

Prof Jaricha, who is planning to invest back home, said that the move instils confidence not only for businesses already operating in the country but also acts as an incentive for attracting investment

“Every investor is always looking for a safe haven for their investment, and the Government has shown its commitment to creating such an environment by facilitating the ease of doing business through the slashing of fees and charges,” he said.

The Cabinet recently decided to implement a comprehensive set of business reforms across 12 sectors of the economy.

This has resulted in a battery of changes being announced in various sectors such as transport, tourism and agriculture.

Prof Jaricha said the development augurs very well with their intention to invest in the country through some of CJ Global’s seven strategic divisions, such as CJ Night Clubs, CJ Global Mall and CJ Global Beauty Spa.

Prof Jaricha, who is the majority shareholder in a football club domiciled in the country, CJ Mposa Football Club, is committed to nurturing local talent and promoting sports development.

Meanwhile CJ Global has indicated that it is close to completing the construction of its third mall in Lesotho’s capital, Maseru.

In a statement, Prof Jaricha said the completion of the mall, which will feature a vibrant mix of retail, dining, and entertainment options, is a testament to the company’s commitment to empowering Africa through strategic investments.

“The development of our third mall in Lesotho underscores our dedication to bringing modern infrastructure and economic opportunities to the region,” said Professor Jaricha.

“We look forward to serving the local community and contributing to Lesotho’s growth.”

The mall’s opening, he said, is expected to create new job opportunities, stimulate local businesses, and provide a hub for social interaction and community activities.

The latest development comes after CJ Global launched CJ Vodka Primum Spirit in Chicago, USA, solidifying its presence in the global spirits market.
