Prophet disappears with residentsa�� money

It was a�?all the money disappear!a�? when a self-proclaimed prophet hit the road with Cowdray Park residentsa�� monies.

Choice Nyika (ABOVE) who resides in Entumbane is reported to have lured residents into believing that he was a miracle prophet who could help them acquire wealth. Each individual who desired to be rich is said to have paid Nyika $40.

A resident who spoke to B-Metro said because life was so hard for him he believed Nyika would rid him of the chains of poverty.

a�?I work very hard but every project I try to start becomes fruitless. Sometimes I just dona��t understand why my money disappears quickly.

a�?I shared my predicament with a friend and he referred me to Nyika who is very popular in this suburb. When I consulted Nyika he told me there were evil spirits which hindered my success. I believed his prophecy and gave him $40 so that he could conduct a cleansing ceremony the next day.

a�?To my surprise Nyika did not turn up. When I called him his cell number was unreachable,a�? said Simeon Ngwenya.

Another Cowdray Park resident who spoke on condition of anonymity labelled Nyika a thief.

a�?Nyika swindled me of $60 having promised to cleanse my homestead of goblins which he claimed were behind my poverty.

a�?After giving him the money I never heard from him. I tried to look for him at his place but his family always tells me he is not around.

a�?No-one can get hold of him because his phone is always off,a�? said the source.

Cowdray Park residentsa�� representative Lindiwe Sibanda confirmed receiving reports about the prophet.

a�?Several residents have come to me reporting about Nyika. Most of them are looking for him but he is nowhere to be found. He has moved from his home in Entumbane and his phone is always off. I dona��t know how we can locate the man,a�? said Sibanda. When B-Metro tried to get hold of Nyika his phone was unreachable.
