PROPHET Elijah has donated US$10,000 to two men who were recently released from jail after serving four years for a crime they never committed.
Tairus Kapeni, 28, and Akim Sibanda, 26, had their conviction and sentence for murder quashed by the Supreme Court.
Kapeni had been sentenced to life in prison while Sibanda was supposed to serve 30 years behind bars.
The two will use the US$10,000 to start some business projects.
Prophet Elijah of the Mercy World Mount Gilead church said the release of the duo is a clear testimony that God can change people’s lives in a very big way.
“They were incarcerated for four years so we want them to recover lost time in a divine way.
“The Ministry will make sure the project succeeds and changes their families’ lives,” said Prophet Elijah.
Daisy Rusere, of Daisy’s Guest House, also gave the two men two free nights to stay at her lodge.
She said she was impressed with how the duo’s mothers-in-law demonstrated love for their two wives when they were in jail.
“I was touched by their support in standing and supporting their daughters-in-law.
“I want them to have a peace of mind at this home away from home.
“They need to refocus, energise and come to their senses at a quiet place with their children.
“They showed motherly love and made all of us, as women, very proud.”
The families live at Sinjola 2 Village under Chief Simuchembo in Gokwe North.
