SELF-STYLED Prophet Makomborero Muza has been evicted from his lodgings in Zimre Park for owing US$1 400 in rental arrears.
The matter came to light when the flamboyant prophet was dragged to court after a fallout with the property manager.
The Prophet accused the property manager of not informing him of the water problems at the house before prophesying to him that he had a mental condition, which was causing a string of domestic violence incidents, with his wife.
This irked the property manager who sought to cancel the lease agreement he had entered with the prophet.
In his defence, Prophet Muza claimed when he took over the property, the water system was broken and he had to fix it for US$180.
He incurred various costs and resorted to deducting the money from the rentals and gave Baramimbe the difference.
Last month, Baramimbe obtained an eviction order which Prophet Muza has been fighting.
“Muza and all those claiming occupation shall vacate the structures and premises situated at Stand No. 7390 Zimre Park, Ruwa, within 14 days, of this order being served upon them, failing which the Messenger of Court be and is hereby directed and authorised to evict them from the said stand,” reads the order.
“Muza shall pay the sum of US$1 400 or equivalent in local currency at the prevailing auction rate being rental arrears.
“He shall pay holding over damages at the rate of US$300 or equivalent in local currency at the prevailing auction rate calculated from date of summons to date of eviction,” reads the eviction order.
Prophet Muza runs his Ministry at the State Lottery Hall.
