A SELF-PROCLAIMED prophet applied some strange substance on his female client before he allegedly raped her until she passed out.
When the woman regained consciousness, she discovered some semen on her private parts and confronted the self-proclaimed prophet who instead demanded money for services rendered, a Bulawayo magistrate heard yesterday.
Magistrate Sibongile Msipa-Marondedze heard this when Aleck Mushowani, 32, of Romney Park in Bulawayo, appeared before her facing a rape charge.
Mushowani pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded out of custody to February 26 on $100 bail.
Mushowani who applied for bail through his lawyer, Zibusiso Ncube of Calderwood, Bryce Hendrie and Partners, was ordered to surrender his passport and to reside at his given address until the matter is concluded.
He was also ordered to report at Sauerstown Police Station every Friday as part of the bail conditions.
Prosecuting, Taurai Hondoyemoto said last Monday shortly after 5PM, the victim knocked off from work and went to her house with Mushowani so that he could pray for her.
The court heard that on arrival at the woman’s place, Mushowani ordered the victim to boil some water. He then put small stones and some petroleum jelly inside the bowl containing the hot water.
“Mushowani then ordered the woman to remove her blouse and he applied the substance on her stomach before he further ordered the victim to cover herself with a blanket and inhale the substance as he prayed for her while she knelt down,” said Hondoyemoto.
Mushowani then took out a spray and ordered the woman to accompany him to her bedroom where he sprayed the entire room. He then started fondling the victim before raping the victim until she fainted.
When the woman regained consciousness, she started feeling pain on her private parts. She took a tissue paper and wiped herself during which she discovered semen on her private parts.
The court heard that the woman confronted Mushowani but instead the self-proclaimed demanded more money for the “service” rendered.
The victim informed her aunt and they filed a police report leading to Mushowani’ arrest.
