A self-proclaimed Chiweshe prophet has appeared in court for allegedly raping a Form Four student who was seeking spiritual help.
Wyceance Simbarashe Chikwekwete (36), appeared before Bindura provincial magistrate, Mr Amos Mbobo, facing rape charges.
He pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutor Ms Sheilla Maribha said the incident took place in July last year.
The court heard that when the girl sought help from Chikwekwete, he took her to a bush and asked her to place her underpants in a clay pot.
He then allegedly ordered the minor to lie down and raped her.
The victim did not tell anyone about the rape until November last year when she discovered that she was pregnant.
In January this year, the complainant’s mother found a letter detailing the abuse and she made a police report.
