‘Prophet’ to pay maintenance

A PREACHER who makes US$200 every week from “prophesying” has been dragged to court by his wife, who accuses him of neglecting their two children.

Trust Ncube, of Pumula South, described in court as a prophet by his estranged wife, skipped a child support hearing on Monday.

But magistrate Sheunesu Matova, satisfied that Ncube had been served with papers to appear in court, went ahead and granted a US$120-per-month maintenance order in favour of Pretty Ncube.

She told court: “I’ve two kids and I’m unemployed. Ncube promised me he’d support our children but he has never owned up, that’s why I’ve come to this court.

“He used to make about $200-a-week from prophesying when we were still together, but he refuses to take responsibility as a father.

“I hear that he’s now remarried, yet he has another child in high school with another woman he’s not supporting. I’ve on my part tried to look after these children through selling a few things, and I’m looking for employment.”
