Protection order against stalker ex

A Harare woman has been granted a protection order against her ex-boyfriend, who has been stalking and abusing her verbally in public.

Josephine Muakutieni took ex-boyfriend, Tawanda Mhiyazi, to the Harare Civil Court where magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted her application.

She told the court that Tawanda was in the habit of stalking and insulting her in public.

“We broke up in 2021 and I went to South Africa. When I returned, he saw me and tried to force himself on me. Now he has been stalking me and calling me using different numbers.

“At one time he saw me with my current boyfriend and he assaulted us and poured alcohol on me. He even threatened to kill me,” she said.

Tawanda refuted the claims.

“She is lying, I did not assault, harass or call her. She is the one who assaulted me with her boyfriend and as we speak, I still have injuries and a shaking tooth.”

Magistrate Chibindi ordered Tawanda not to harass, insult or threaten Josephine.
