Provincial Day of African Child launched

THE Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Nokhutula Matsikenyeri has officially launched the Provincial Day of the African Child 2021.

Speaking at the launch which was held at her offices at the Government Complex this afternoon, Minister Matsikenyeri said her office is committed to support young people by lending a listening ear to them.

She implored families to safeguard their children and complement the Government’s efforts to enable children to develop to their fullest potential.

Minister Matsikenyeri said in recognition of this day, various activities in all of Manicaland’s seven districts were done as build-up to the provincial launch.

Also speaking at the same occasion, Junior Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Kimberley Gudhlanga, said children’s rights cannot be overemphasised as they serve to preserve and protect tomorrow’s generation.

She said the Day of the African Child is supposed to be for the children and celebrated by and with the children.
