With over 97% of voting districts declared, the election race is nearing the finish line. The ANC has come out top in most of the provinces, with DA consolidating their official opposition spot.
Here is a break-down of the top 3 leading parties in each province so far and their seat allocation prediction:
Eastern Cape
In the Eastern Cape the ANC is leading with 70, 08 %, DA is 16, 28% and the UDM has 6, 10%.
In the terms of seat allocations, the SABC predicts that the ANC will take 45 seats, the DA 10 and the UDM 4.
Free State
The ANC is leading the race with 70.20 % of votes, the DA is on 15, 98% and the EFF has 8, 06%.
In the terms of seat allocation prediction, the ANC is predicted to take 22 seats, the DA 5, and EFF 2 and the Freedom Front 1.
Gauteng
In the much contested province the ANC has garnered 52, 49%, the DA on the other hand has 32, 17% and EFF is on 10.01%.
In the terms of seat allocation prediction, the ANC is predicted to take 40 seats; DA is to get 22, and the EFF 8; and the ACDP, FF+ and IFP 1 each.
Kwa-Zulu Natal
The ANC is leading the race with 64, 56%, the DA is on 12, 32% and IFP is on 11, 11%.
In the terms of seat allocation prediction, The SABC predicts the ANC will win 53 seats, the DA 11, and the IFP87, the NFP6, the MF and EFF 1 each.
Limpopo
The ANC is leading in the province with 78, 61%, the EFF is on 10, 73% and DA is on 6, 48%.
In the terms of seat allocations, the ANC is predicted to win 39 seats, the EFF 5, and the DA 3. Cope and the FF+ 1 each.
Mpumalanga
With the province already having completed their vote counting, the ANC has a lead of 78, 23%, DA has 10, 40% and EFF has 6, 26% votes.
In the terms of seat allocation prediction, the ANC is predicted to gain 24, DA 3 and EFF 2 and BRA 1.
North West
The ANC is leading the race with 67, 39% of votes, the EFF has 13, 29% and the DA has 12,59%.

Northern Cape
Having completed vote counting, the ANC has established a lead of 64,40%, the DA has 23, 89% and EFF has 4,96% of the votes.

Western Cape
In the much contested province, with 98 % of votes counted, the DA is leading with 59.20%, the ANC has 33, 04% of votes and the EFF has 2, 11%.
