PROVINCIAL finals for Arts Sports Science Annual Festival Games are currently underway in Mutare with all the seven districts in attendance.

The event, organised by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, is part of the new curriculum in schools.

Participants are competing in 19 sporting disciplines which include mass display, wushu, hockey, goal ball, darts, athletics, lawn and table tennis, cricket, soccer, rugby, softball, volleyball, swimming, netball and chess. The provincial technical and competition manager, Philip Padhuze, said the games started well, with all districts represented.

“All the seven districts are represented. We started the preparations for this festival in January. Each district selected children to represent them. It is part of the new school curriculum and it will help children to showcase their talents.”
