HEADS of Government departments and agencies in Manicaland signed integrity pledges this morning, committing themselves to ethical conduct and transparency in service delivery.
At the signing ceremony, Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza said the pledges mark a new chapter in strengthening accountability and rebuilding trust between the Government and citizens.
“This pledge is more than just a symbolic gesture – it is a social contract.
It represents our collective commitment to the highest ethical standards.
By taking this step, we are rebuilding the essential trust between Government and its citizens,” he said.
Minister Mugadza commended the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) for spearheading the initiative, which aligns with President Mnangagwa’s vision of ethical leadership.
He pledged swift action against integrity breaches, urging officers to prioritize public interest over personal or political gain.
ZACC chairperson of the Prevention of Corruption and Corporate Governance Committee, Commissioner Chido Madiwa, described the signing as a solemn covenant.
“When we affix our signatures to this document, we are declaring to our nation that integrity is not negotiable, that public trust is sacred, and that the fight against corruption begins with each of us individually and collectively,” she said.
Commissioner Madiwa added that the pledges will enhance public trust, strengthen governance systems, and help eliminate corruption by making service delivery more transparent and accountable.
