IT was a special night which pulled people into worshipping until dawn.

While some people on Friday spent their evening chasing entertainment or retreating into loud clubbing spaces, a crowd chose stillness, prayer and praise.

For them, the night stretched beyond normal hours, into an all-night atmosphere of devotion where believers gathered with one purpose, to seek God together.

The all-night worship experience, dubbed ‘Psalms Till Dawn’, brought several musicians and ministers to 7 Arts Theatre, turning the venue into a prayer zone. From the opening moments, it was singing, dancing and worshipping.

At the centre of the gathering was Minister Everton Mlalazi, Hannah Mapepeta, Boys of Thunder and Vocal Vase, whose presence added weight to the night. Minister Mlalazi belted hymns and praise songs, including ‘Hakuna Wakaita SaJesu’, ‘Jehova’, ‘Apo Jesu’, ‘Ndokumutevera’, among others.

He was followed by Hannah Mapepeta, who brought the house into worshipping.

Vocal Base band director, Trust Samende, said the night was meant to bring worshippers, from different churches, under one spiritual canopy.

“Psalms Till Dawn is the visionary brainchild of Vocal Base.

“It was born out of a deep passion for spiritual intimacy, it is a powerful, night-long worship experience designed to bring believers together under one roof.

“As a strictly interdenominational service, it transcends church walls and theological boundaries, gathering worshipers from all walks of life for a singular purpose: unified, unfiltered praise.

“Central to this vision is a spirit of divine unity,” he said.

Samende described the event as a powerful, night-long worship experience. “This was just a service encompassing everyone despite backgrounds. It transcended church walls and theological boundaries.

“Worshipers from varied backgrounds came with different testimonies and experiences, yet they shared the same posture, hands raised, hearts open, and voices united in praise.”

“This is the birth of a new dawn and next year around the same time, we will be doing the same.

“We hope it will be bigger and we want people to continue meeting for worship.

“It is more than just a musical collaboration but it is a movement to unite worshipers everywhere in a singular, powerful chorus of praise to the Almighty.”

He revealed that Vocal Base is currently pouring its heart and soul into an upcoming live recording project, scheduled to be released in October.
