SCOTTLAND team manager and former Warriors skipper, Peter Ndlovu, has urged Mabvirarira players to respect the club’s badge, ahead of Sunday’s CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg encounter against Nsingizini Hotspurs at the National Sports.
Ndlovu, who also managed African champions Mamelodi Sundowns before joining Scottland at the beginning of the season, delivered a short but strong message at the club’s dinner in Borrowdale on Thursday night.
About $1 million dollars was raised at the dinner and club owner Pedzai Scott Sakupwanya revealed that the whole amount would be availed to the players over the two CAF Champions League preliminary legs.
Sakupwanya also pledged $20 000 per each goal scored against Nsingizini Hotspurs on Sunday.
Scottland benefactor Wicknel Chivayo promised $50 000 for each CAF Champions League win.
Chivayo also promised to pay $500 000 should Scottland defend the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title.
“I’m a man of a few words, but I think we have heard exactly what has been said.
“The players know that the badge is more important and we promise that we will do our best to make sure the badge is respected,” said Ndlovu.
Scottland have intensified their preparations for their CAF Champions League debut with coach Norman Mapeza, promising to deliver the much needed victory.
“It’s a game of football, but I’m telling you, I’m promising everybody a positive result.
“We know it’s not going to be easy, but my promise is we are going to deliver on Sunday,” said Mapeza.
