PSC deploys 550 Govt experts to drive devolution

Sikhumbuzo Moyo – Bulawayo Bureau
THE Public Service Commission has deployed 550 experts in various fields across the country’s 10 provinces to ensure the full implementation of the Government’s devolution policy thrust.

This was revealed by the Permanent Secretary for Presidential Affairs and Devolution in the President’s Office Mr Tafadzwa Muguti in his opening remarks at the inaugural Rural Industrialisation Indaba that got underway at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre (ZIEC) this morning.

The indaba is being held as part of this year’s edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.

Mr Muguti told delegates that included the Bulawayo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Judith Ncube, various cabinet Ministers, captains of industry and senior Government officials that Zimbabwe was not going back on devolution and was very clear that the programme is paramount to the success of the country as outlined in Chapter 14 of the country’s constitution.

The Government identified devolution as a key pillar to achieving an upper-middle income economy status by 2030.
