THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has opened the race for a new chief executive officer to replace Kennedy Ndebele, who quit at the end of last year before landing the Zifa vice presidency in January.
Since then, Rodwell Thabe has been holding the fort as acting CEO, but the league now wants a permanent boss to steer the ship.
On Tuesday, PSL, through recruitment agent EPZ Global, advertised the high-profile post.
“The Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented and visionary leader to serve as its chief executive officer. The ZPSL is the top tier of professional football in Zimbabwe, and we are dedicated to advancing the sport’s quality, commercial viability and integrity,” reads part of the advert.
The new CEO will be expected to provide strategic leadership, push financial sustainability, and enhance the league’s brand.
Key requirements include:
• Proven leadership and strategic planning skills
• Strong financial management and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
• Commitment to integrity, transparency and adaptability
Applicants must have 5-10 years’ experience in a senior executive role and hold a degree in Business Administration, Sports Management or Marketing.
In a progressive move, PSL said women are encouraged to apply as it is an equal opportunities employer.
The deadline for applications is August 31, 2025.
