Lovemore dube, Zimpapers Sports Hub

THE Premier Soccer League is in the hunt for a chief executive officer to replace Kennedy Ndebele who quit at the end of last year ahead of the January 25 elections at Zifa.

Ndebele eventually won to become Zifa executive committee vice president.

On Tuesday, the Premiership, through a human resources recruitment agent, EPZ Global, advertised the job.

Rodwell Thabe has been acting chief executive officer since Ndebele stepped down.
“The Zimbabwe Premier Soccer (ZPSL) is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented and visionary leader to serve as its chief executive officer. The ZPSL is the top tier of professional football in Zimbabwe, and we are dedicated to advancing the sport’s quality, commercial viability and integrity,” read part of the advertisement.

The incumbent will be expected to provide strategic leadership to ensure the organisation’s efficiency and financial sustainability. Enhancing brand integrity will also be among the key roles to play.

A list of drawn competencies includes:
– Proven leadership and strategic planning skills
– Strong financial management and decision-making abilities
– Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
– Commitment to integrity, transparency and adaptability

The candidates must have 5-10 years in senior executive role and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sports Management and Marketing.

Females have also been invited to apply as the ZPSL is an equal opportunities employer.

The deadline for applications is August 31, 2025.
