THE Castle Premier Soccer League (PSL) has postponed Sunday’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League fixture between Highlanders and Chicken Inn following the tragic deaths of PSL vice-chairman and Highlanders chairman Retired Colonel Kenneth Mhlophe, Highlanders vice-chairman Fiso Siziba and treasurer Nkani Khoza.

In a statement released on Friday, the PSL said the decision was made following the passing of the three football administrators in a road traffic accident on Thursday night.

“The Premier Soccer League advises all stakeholders that the Castle Lager PSL fixture between Highlanders FC and Chicken Inn FC scheduled for Sunday 26 July 2026, has been postponed following the passing of PSL Vice Chairman, Rtd. Col. Kenneth Mhlophe, Highlanders FC Vice Chairman, Sifiso Siziba and Treasurer, Nkani Khoza,” read the statement.

The league also announced that all Matchday 25 fixtures will observe a minute of silence in honour of the departed trio.

“We call upon all clubs and football stakeholders to officially observe a moment of silence in respect and honour of their legacy before the commencement of all Matchday 25 fixtures.”

In addition, the PSL directed all clubs to wear black armbands during this weekend’s matches as a mark of respect.

“All clubs are requested to participate in this tribute by wearing black armbands during the weekend matches.”

The deaths of Mhlophe, Siziba and Khoza have sent shockwaves across Zimbabwe’s football fraternity, with clubs, football administrators, former players and supporters continuing to pay tribute to three men who dedicated their lives to the growth and development of Highlanders Football Club and Zimbabwean football.
