Public holiday declared

“It is hereby declared that Saturday, the 16th March, 2013 shall be public holiday,” reads part of the Extraordinary Gazette published yesterday.

The Extra ordinary Gazette says the purpose of declaring today a public holiday is to enable every employee to vote during the referendum to ascertain the views of voters on the acceptability of the new draft constitution.
The draft Constitution was produced by the Constitution Select Committee.
