A 12-YEAR-OLD girl who is a pupil at a local primary school left her church members shocked after she revealed that she was allegedly raped by her 30-year-old church mate.
A source close to the incident said the 12-year-old girl who cannot be named for professional reasons allegedly phoned her 30-year-old church mate to come to her home in Selbourne Park suburb in Bulawayo.
After a couple of minutes, the 30-year-old man arrived at her home driving a Honda Fit and picked her up. It is said he drove to a nearby bushy area and parked there. He allegedly moved to the back seat and raped her.
After the ordeal, he ferried the minor to her home. The girl did not disclose the ordeal to anyone. However, last Sunday at Christian Missionary Fellowship International Church, Selbourne Park branch during confession time the minor dropped a bombshell and revealed that she was raped by her church mate.
A source said “The minor stood up and confessed before the pastor that her church-mate raped her. Her mother was left devastated,” said a source.
The incident was reported to the police leading to the arrest of the accused. Bulawayo Police Spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident and said investigations are in progress.
