The African continent needs Afrocentric political parties, which understand the needs of the people and not the existing ones that are controlled and funded by Western countries.
Further, there is need to develop nuclear infrastructure, invest heavily in ICT development and research and development, a single currency and economic foreign policy for tangible economic development, while at same time coming up with a strong maste plan for rural development.
This was said by the trustees’ representative, Mr Khumbulani Mhlophe, while launching the One 54 Transformational Trust in Harare on Wednesday.
“We don’t have opposition parties that are Afrocentric,” said Mr Mhlophe.
“If they are there, perhaps the media are not reporting about their activities. Current opposition parties are financed by the West and they don’t represent the needs of the African people.”
Mr Mhlophe urged African embassies in Western capitals to speak out against the reckless killing of Africans and the imposition of sanctions on African countries for no reason apart from suffocating economies and cause uprisings.
The organisation aims to promote the creation of a “one economy” for Africa that does not depend on Western donations.
